The Tribe XX Foundation is pleased to introduce its first initiative - The XX-PAND Fund with an endowment of N1,000,000 (one million naira) from Ms. Emalohi L. Iruobe Esq.
The fund will award 20 grants of N50,000 cash from a pool of N1,000,000 to women creatives telling stories that center BLACK women and girls. We believe that stories help people make sense of the world, lead to discourse that ripples into action for change. We are particularly looking for work that highlights social problems that women face, projects that challenge unfair gender power dynamics, stories of joy, love, laughter and everything in between.
We know that telling our own stories is essential to self expression, to writing and re-writing the ways women and girls are portrayed in popular culture, to change the perception of women and their value and contribution to society.
It is an opportunity to bear witness, to build community, to XX-PAND our voices and fervently proclaim that “WE ARE HERE, WE MATTER”
